If your health insurance plan is offered through your employer, download the Blue KC Prescription Drug List to see a list of all covered drugs by tier. Blue KC evaluates prescription drugs offered through your health insurance plan.
We want to ensure that the prescription drugs we offer are safe for you and your family. That’s why we evaluate medications based on safety, effectiveness, adverse events, proven advantages over existing drugs and cost. And, prescription drugs are assigned to one of three pay levels: first tier, second tier and third tier. Typically, you will be encouraged to use lower level tiers as they will cost less. Any new branded medication will be assigned to the highest tier until reviewed. Keep in mind this list may change.
Some health insurance plans will use a different prescription drug list than the one above. To find out whether this prescription drug list is the one associated with your health insurance plan, check with your group benefits administrator or call the Customer Service number listed on your member ID card.
