Getting Involved in the Communities We ServeIt's All Part of the Blue KC Commitment
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) has been doing business for more than 75 years, but what we do goes beyond providing some of the best health insurance in our hometown. We partner with local people and organizations to create powerful initiatives to help our community become a more vibrant place to live, work, play and raise a family. For those reasons, we are proud to support a variety of organizations. It's about helping our members and Kansas City build a healthier future.
Macaela Stephenson, Manager of Community Relations
Our main charitable focus is on organizations that concentrate on health and wellness initiatives.
Through the Blue KC community investment program, donations are made to a broad range of worthwhile causes and non-profit endeavors.
If you have any questions about our charitable giving or the application process, email _Community_Relations@BlueKC.com.
Blue KC Employees Give Back
Blue KC employees volunteer thousands of hours and give of their time and talents to help organizations all across the Kansas City area. We recently launched several initiatives and programs, like Blue KC Cares, to increase our community outreach and drive volunteer activities. Blue KC Cares is an online program that allows employees to search and sign up for a wide range of volunteer opportunities that match their interests. Employees can build their own volunteer page and track their hours. Our employees feel fortunate to be your neighbor and look forward to working with you to build a healthier and more vibrant future for Kansas City.
If you are interested in having employees volunteer at your upcoming event, email Outreach Coordinator, Laura Read.
The Caring Program for Children
The Caring Program for Children is Blue KC’s internal non-profit organization that is funded completely by employees. The mission of the fund is to enhance the quality of life for children in our community by providing durable medical equipment and related items that otherwise could not be afforded by the child’s family and are not covered by state or federal programs or by private insurance. Click here for more information and details on how you can apply.

Blue KC is a proud supporter of The United Way of Greater Kansas City and all of the worthwhile causes that they support.
