Like clockwork, October brings out the pumpkin, mum, and sweater sensibilities in Kansas Citians. It also marks a turning of seasons for mailboxes and inboxes as they fill with open enrollment information from health insurers.
This year, we challenge you to not hit the delete button, don’t trash that mailer – when it’s from Blue KC!
In the next two weeks, be on the lookout for Blue KC mail:
RENEWAL LETTER AND BROCHURE PACKET – This will arrive in your mailbox in a Blue KC envelope and tells you how to renew your plan for 2023.
PLAN OPTIONS MAILER – This will arrive in your mailbox in a Blue KC envelope and includes your health plan options, estimated monthly premium for 2023, and instructions for renewing or enrolling in a different plan.
EMAILS – These will arrive in your email inbox in November and December and include a link to your health plan options, estimated premiums for 2023, and instructions for renewing or enrolling in a different plan.

The open enrollment hype is real. Take advantage of your opportunity to make big choices about your health insurance, such as:
- Does my current health plan suit me or would another Blue KC plan work better?
- Do I want a different monthly premium, deductible, or out-of-pocket maximum?
- Would my prescriptions and doctors be better covered under another Blue KC plan?
- Would I prefer a plan that offers exclusive access to Spira Care for advanced primary care?
Watch your mailbox for your Blue KC open enrollment materials. And, of course, if you have questions about your health plan, please contact one of our Customer Service representatives at the number on your member ID card.
