Deconstructing pharmacy networks on Blue KC’s Essential PPO plan
Blue KC’s Essential PPO offers members full coverage and flexibility. From a pharmacy perspective, this means members can get a 30-day supply of Tier 1 and Tier 2* generic prescription drugs on the Preferred network. Or they can go to a pharmacy on the Standard network and pay just $5 more per prescription.
Most important to remember is members on the Essential PPO have the flexibility to shop Preferred or Standard network pharmacies. If they choose a pharmacy in the Standard network they’ll pay $5 more per prescription.
Preferred and Standard pharmacies
Preferred pharmacies include Walmart, Walgreens, Price Chopper, Hy-Vee, Hen House, and others.
Standard pharmacies include Costco, Sam’s Club, CVS, and others.
