When to submit a claim
Whenever you visit an in-network provider, they will submit a claim to Blue KC on your behalf for the services rendered.
If you choose to visit an out-of-network or non-contracted provider, it’s important to confirm whether they will submit a claim for you. If the provider does not plan to send the claim, you can submit it yourself to ensure that any payments you make will count towards your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum.
Depending on your plan’s usage and benefits, Blue KC may reimburse you for a portion or all of the provider’s charges.
