Reminder: Prescription drug list updates effective January 1, 2024
As a reminder, changes to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) Prescription Drug List will go into effect January 1, 2024.
The Blue KC Medical and Pharmacy Management Committee has completed its quarterly review of the Prescription Drug Lists (PDL) and other pharmacy programs for drug safety, effectiveness, clinical outcomes, and cost.
As a result of the review, large employer groups will see the following PDL updates, effective January 1, 2024.
- Select PDL routine updates (previously Preferred PDL)
- Premium PDL routine updates
Blue KC sent an email the week of November 20 informing you about these changes; impacted employees received a letter from Blue KC.
