Benefits for Businesses of All Shapes and Sizes

Healthy employees are worth their weight in gold. When employees feel good mentally, physically, and emotionally, it can help them feel more energized and focused at work. When your employees are operating at their best, it can help your small business perform at its best, too. This is why offering your employees the right health plan is so important.

“Employees are the soul of your business and a health plan that addresses their whole health and well-being can have a big impact on motivation, morale, engagement, and commitment to company success,” says Ryan Roth, Director of Sales, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC). “We offer plans for businesses of all shapes and sizes with benefits, coverage options, and savings to help your employees feel their best physically, behaviorally, and financially.”

Access to affordable primary care services for the whole family

Many Blue KC health plans offer your employees exclusive access to nine Spira Care Centers across the Kansas City metro area — plus access to their plan’s network for specialty care, urgent care, or routine care.

At Spira Care Centers, your employees will have easy access to doctor-led care teams with no additional cost* for primary care services for patients of all ages, including newborns, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Patients will also have access to a simplified and personalized care experience, including:

  • Wide array of primary care services — routine preventive care, chronic medical condition management, sick care, immunizations, labs, and more
  • In-person and virtual appointments
  • Online communication with their Care Team
  • Assistance navigating their plan’s network
  • Referrals and scheduling for in-network specialists
  • On-site health coaching, diabetes education, and behavioral health consultations
  • Extended hours — including evenings and weekends for appointments — plus an on-call service during off hours
  • Access to Care Guides for care management and care questions
  • No financial barriers to primary care options with $0 copay at Spira Care Centers for members enrolled in non-HSA plans

$0** virtual care appointments for primary and behavioral healthcare

Blue KC’s $0 virtual care appointments provide access to in-network primary care and behavioral health. Providers can care for patients over the phone, online, or via video chat. With virtual care, your employees can take advantage of:

  • 24/7 urgent or sick care, with no appointment needed for non-emergency conditions like sinus infections, pink eye, earaches, and flu
  • Behavioral healthcare by appointment with therapists and psychiatrists for conditions like anxiety, depression, or panic disorders

Employees can access virtual care through the MyBlueKC mobile app or on the MyBlueKC.com member portal.

Healthcare on the go with the MyBlueKC app

Never underestimate the power of a mobile app, especially when it puts health plan resources right in your employees’ hands. The MyBlueKC app allows your employees to:

  • Search for in-network doctors and specialists
  • Download their digital member ID card
  • Access pharmacy benefit information
