Fletcher coached football at Lincoln Prep for 10 years before transitioning and joining the staff at William Chrisman. His coaching background has also included stints as a basketball and track coach. He continues to find unique ways to grow the game of football while helping his players realize there\u2019s more to life than sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOne of my most proud moments is watching my student-athletes sign their letters of intent to go to college,\u201d said Fletcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Being with his players every day throughout the season whether it\u2019s in the weight room, on the practice field or under the lights on Friday nights in the fall, Fletcher enjoys soaking in the memories of seeing their growth and excitement about playing the game they love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was once given some advice,\u201d said Fletcher. \u201cAlways make it about the kids. Once it becomes about you, you are no good to them anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s a message Fletcher continually reminds himself about. He\u2019s able to keep himself grounded and never take anything for granted. He tells his players and other student-athletes to not be afraid of being great. His dedication and perseverance that\u2019s displayed on a daily basis helps his students buy into the messages he shares and helps build a stronger, more cohesive football program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s important to instill standards because it sets the tone for everything in life,\u201d said Fletcher. \u201cThe standards you set for yourself help guide your goals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fletcher was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri and is honored to be selected as a Blue KC Coaches with Character recipient after his initial season at William Chrisman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe reason I coach is because of the values and traits I was given through sports,\u201d said Fletcher. \u201cIt is up to me to pass it along to someone else. Being recognized for this ability is an awesome feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being able to give back, especially to the next generation, is a humbling honor, and we know everyone that has and will cross paths with Coach Fletcher will feel his dedication to the game he loves.
