Don\u2019t leave home without knowing your travel medical insurance coverage <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Travel medical insurance isn\u2019t often on the checklist when preparing for a trip. But it should be. Knowing your medical coverage while away from home is as important as booking airfare and accommodations. Take a minute to understand your travel medical insurance coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Traveling domestically<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) plan includes coverage across the United States. Here\u2019s how to find care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Always carry your current Blue KC member ID card or access your card at MyBlueKC.com or on the MyBlueKC app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Show your member ID card when you arrive at the in-network provider or hospital.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find a nearby, in-network provider or hospital using Find Care:<ul><li>Click Find Care on <a href=\"https:\/\/member.bluekc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MyBlueKC.com<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bluekc.com\/consumer\/member-benefits\/apps\/mybluekc-mobile-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MyBlueKC app<\/a>. Change \u201cCity, state or zip\u201d to your current location<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In \u201cSearch for Names, Specialties, and Procedures,\u201d enter the type of provider or care facility you need<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you or a family member require urgent or emergency care and need support, call Blue KC customer service at the phone number on your member ID card.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After you receive care:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You should not have to complete any claim forms if using an in-network provider or hospital<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You should not have to pay upfront for medical services, except for the usual out-of-pocket expenses (non-covered services, deductible, copay and coinsurance)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You should receive an explanation of benefits from Blue KC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Traveling internationally<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Global Core <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Global Core provides international medical coverage and is part of your Blue KC health plan.
