Awards are the first to be received in joint production by Blue KC and the Kansas City Royals<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) was awarded gold and silver status at the local American Advertising Awards<\/a>, also called the \u201cADDY Awards\u201d, for the documentary \u201cNot Good Enough.\u201d The film is a joint production between Blue KC and the Kansas City Royals. The awards ceremony took place on February 10, 2024, at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, MO with approximately 250 advertising executives, marketing creatives and guests in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film won gold status in the Corporate Social Responsibility \u2013 Film, Video and Sound category and silver status in the Integrated Media Corporate Social Responsibility Campaign category. Members of the Blue KC sports partnership staff, as well as associates from the Royals, accepted the awards on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to be represented with other marketing and advertising leaders in Kansas City for our work with the Royals,\u201d said Christina Lively, Blue KC Chief Marketing Officer. \u201cOur goal is to spread awareness about youth athlete mental health and how we as parents, coaches and teachers play one of the most important roles in their lives. By having the American Advertising Awards recognize the documentary, we feel like we are increasing that awareness to a broader audience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

The \u201cNot Good Enough\u201d documentary is a 45-minute look into the perspective of our youth athletes and the toll perfectionism takes on their behavioral health. For more information, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry\u2019s largest and most representative competition in the United States. The mission of the event is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The local American Advertising Awards (AAF) is the first phase of the three-tier competition where agencies, freelancers and students can be recognized as the best in their markets. Local Gold winners move on to compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. AAF-Kansas City winners compete in the AAF District 9 competition \u2014 which includes work from Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska \u2014 held in March every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we win at the AAF District 9 American Advertising Awards, our work will move on to the AAF National competition held at ADMERICA from May 30 \u2013 June 2 in Salt Lake City.<\/p>\n\n\n
