Tailoring health programs to member needs is one way Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) cares for members\u2019 whole health and well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, understanding member needs relies on gathering their information, and we\u2019re pleased to be better equipped now more than ever to do just that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2024, Blue KC launched a program to collect member data using two health equity surveys:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the data collected, Blue KC can develop and advance programs, such as the Community Support Tool<\/a> and programs offered through the Blue KC<\/a> Care Management app<\/a>, which supplements the care members receive from their doctors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Blue KC sales representatives began contacting large groups in March to introduce our health equity efforts and are sharing our\u00a0Community Health Playbook<\/strong><\/a>, which explains the program and includes employee communications and an action plan.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the second half of the year, we will begin contacting small groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is voluntary for employees to provide their information\u2026and confidential. Employers will not be able to associate employee names with their answers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Blue KC is dedicated to promoting health equity and supporting member wellness.
