{"id":4112,"date":"2024-08-19T13:42:42","date_gmt":"2024-08-19T18:42:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bluekc.com\/blueprint\/?p=4112"},"modified":"2025-05-12T11:59:57","modified_gmt":"2025-05-12T16:59:57","slug":"training-for-adult-infant-cpr-with-the-black-health-care-coalition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bluekc.com\/blueprint\/healthier-living\/training-for-adult-infant-cpr-with-the-black-health-care-coalition\/","title":{"rendered":"Register for Adult and Infant CPR Training"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In only 30 minutes, you can learn how to save someone\u2019s life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To address health disparities and give life-saving information, Blue KC is proud to partner with the <a href=\"https:\/\/bhcckc.org\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Black Health Care Coalition<\/a> to host training for infant and adult CPR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disparities have been found in survival rates for people receiving CPR by a non-medical professional for cardiac arrest, which is when the heart suddenly stops beating. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nih.gov\/news-events\/news-releases\/disparities-found-survival-benefits-people-receiving-bystander-cpr-cardiac-arrest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A National Institutes of Health (NIH)-supported study<\/a> revealed that average survival benefits for cardiac arrest could be three times as high for white adults compared to Black adults and twice as high for men compared to women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Learn life-saving CPR<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All it takes is 30 minutes to receive accurate, proven training to help you respond with life-saving skills in emergency situations. An American Heart Association representative will lead the CPR training.
