Shut Out the Stigma and \u201cNot Good Enough\u201d documentary recognized by prestigious television academy<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC), in partnership with the Kansas City Royals, won two regional Emmy awards for the behavioral health initiative, Shut Out the Stigma, and its corresponding documentary, \u201cNot Good Enough.\u201d The Mid-America chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) presented the awards during a ceremony on Oct. 26, 2024, in Overland Park, Kansas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Shut Out the Stigma<\/a> initiative provides support for behavioral health as a part of whole-person well-being, and focuses on removing the stigma surrounding mental health. The initiative won the 2024 Mid-America Emmy Award for Community Service. The \u201cNot Good Enough\u201d<\/a> documentary, as part of that initiative, won the 2024 Mid-America Emmy Award in the Documentary \u2013 Cultural category. The documentary is a 45-minute look into the perspective of our youth athletes and the toll perfectionism takes on their behavioral health.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to be represented in the television industry for our important work with the Royals,\u201d said Christina Lively, Blue KC Chief Marketing Officer. \u201cOur goal is to spread awareness about youth athlete mental health and how we as parents, coaches and teachers play one of the most important roles in their lives. By having the regional Emmy chapter recognize the documentary and initiative, we feel like we are increasing that awareness to a broader audience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NATAS Mid-America<\/a> is one of 19 regional chapters of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, headquartered in New York City. The Mid-America chapter was chartered in 1962 and began honoring outstanding achievement in this region with local Emmy Awards in 1976. The chapter encompasses television markets in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas and Louisiana.
