If you\u2019re like most people, you\u2019ve chosen the month of January to get started. You\u2019ve celebrated (maybe too much) during the holidays. Now, you\u2019re ready to reset and crush your \u201cnew you\u201d goals.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every year more than 50% of people make New Year\u2019s resolutions. That\u2019s a good thing. But unfortunately, virtually every study tells us that more than 80% of those resolutions will be abandoned by February.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t want your resolutions to fail? Well, here are a few tips to help you stay on track.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Set realistic, specific goals. \u201c<\/strong>Lose weight\u201d is not a specific goal. \u201cLose 10 pounds in 90 days\u201d is.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use SMART goals.<\/strong>\u202fThat stands for: Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic, and Time-bound.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Take small steps.<\/strong>\u202fResults take time. Start by planning workouts for the first week. Continue every week, increasing intensity to stay challenged but safe.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Have fun!<\/strong>\u202fDo what you enjoy \u2013 skiing, riding a bike, playing tennis, or practicing yoga. If it\u2019s fun, you\u2019re more likely to stick with it.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Have an accountability buddy.<\/strong>\u202fShare goals with friends and family so they can help keep you on track.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Celebrate your success between milestones.<\/strong>\u202fDon\u2019t wait until you reach your final goal. Enjoy the journey!\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Track your progress.<\/strong>\u202fChoose how you\u2019ll evaluate results \u2013 by weight, body fat, or improvement in activities. Keep a daily food and exercise journal and track your progress weekly.
