Paperless statements are good for the environment by reducing the amount of paper we use. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the average American uses about one 100-foot-tall Douglas fir tree’s equivalent in paper each year.
And how’s the sound of a cleaner home environment? Eliminating paper statements will mean less loose paper and clutter in your home.
As a Blue KC member, you can choose to receive an electronic notification when your EOB (Explanation of Benefits) is ready on your member portal instead of through the United States Postal Service. If you’re a direct pay member, you can choose to have your billing statements sent electronically, too – saving you money on stamps.

To opt out of receiving paper copies of your EOBs, simply manage the communication preferences in the profile section of your member portal. Follow these three easy steps.
- Log in to MyBlueKC.com or complete your registration if you are not yet registered.
- Go to your Profile and click on “Communication Preferences.”
- Check the box marked “Email or Text.” Then click “Save.”
You can log in to your member portal at any time to see copies of your EOBs. Even if you haven’t opted in, you’ll find your EOBs online – we automatically display the last 24 months.
