Each year as part of the ACA open enrollment process, CMS sends batch auto renewal (BAR) files to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC), which are loaded into our customer relationship management (CRM) system. The BAR files include current clients CMS has notified us will renew with Blue KC. Those clients will be automatically enrolled for 2023 unless they opt to apply for a different policy. This is part of our usual process with CMS.
This year, due to updates to our CRM system, brokers received enrollment confirmation notices when the BAR files were loaded into the system in October.
On December 16-20, another set of BAR files will be loaded into our CRM. If your name is associated with clients on these BAR files, you will receive enrollment confirmation notices throughout the week. There is no action you need to take when you receive the confirmations.
We appreciate your patience as Blue KC continues to integrate this new process. We are reviewing our processes for improvements and will let you know prior to BAR file uploads in the future.
