A Marketplace special enrollment period (SEP) has opened for individuals losing Medicaid coverage due to the expiration of the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) and a return to the Medicaid annual renewal process. In Missouri, the annual renewal process will resume April 1 and identify individuals as eligible or ineligible for Medicaid coverage.
The SEP – which runs March 31, 2023, to July 31, 2024 – aims to maintain continuity of coverage for those no longer eligible for Medicaid. During this timeframe, those individuals may enroll in a Marketplace-qualified health plan.
