Suicide Awareness and Prevention – Resources to Share with Clients

September 2022

Suicide touches far too many lives in our community. We are committed to helping clients, colleagues, and the wider community address suicide awareness and delivering hope and help where it’s needed most.

Help your clients learn more about this deeply troubling public health concern. Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. And with numbers on the rise, let’s make it an ongoing conversation.

Resources to share with clients

  • Mental Health First Aid Training for Employer Groups – One in five teens and young adults live with a mental health condition, but many are reluctant to seek help. The Blue KC Behavioral Health Initiatives team aims to help change that and is on the front lines training employer groups.
  • 988 Suicide & Crisis LifelineAnyone can call, text, or chat 988 to connect 24/7 to a trained counselor who will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources, if necessary.
