Effective immediately: Curv underwriting expanded for small groups
Blue KC has expanded Curv underwriting for small groups. For the groups types listed below, we will not require a group-specific renewal. Effective immediately, we will require current rates, benefits, applicable employer application, Blue KC Curv census template, and a recent invoice*.
- Small groups coming out of associations, consortiums, professional employer organizations, etc.
- Groups in ACA plans that have 10 or more enrolled employees
- Groups with 10 or more enrolled employees shopping off-renewal
- Prospective virgin groups with 10 or more enrolled employees (Level-Funded ASO) or 51 or more enrolled employees (Fully Insured). Note: Current rates and benefits are not required for virgin groups.
*Traditional ASO or Level Funded ASO groups will be required to also submit claims experience reporting.
Avoid processing delays
Speed up your Curv processing by submitting a group once you have all required documents. Blue KC prioritizes new group submissions based on accurate and complete information. Please send submissions directly to your new business coordinator and copy your sales consultant.
Additional things to know
- If additional employees elect to enroll after Curv underwriting is complete, Blue KC will require fully completed health applications for those employees. We also can rerun Curv in this situation.
- If fewer employees enroll after Curv underwriting is complete (10% variance), Blue KC reserves the right to rerun the updated census through Curv (rates potentially subject to change).
- To be eligible for Curv underwriting, Blue KC accepts groups with a maximum 40% renewal, which is an increase from the previous 35% renewal.
Please contact your Blue KC representative with questions or for more information.
