Supporting employee health this season starts with Spira Care

For Blue KC members enrolled in plans with access to Spira Care, primary care is available close to home through nine convenient Care Centers across the Kansas City metro. Spira Care offers comprehensive primary care services, including preventive care, annual physicals, sick care, care for minor injuries, behavioral health support, routine lab draws, and more. Most locations offer same-day or next-day sick appointments, helping members get the care they need when they need it.

As you talk with clients, consider reminding them of the Spira Care value, including:
- Low-to-no additional cost1 primary care for eligible members
- Same-day and next-day sick appointments at most locations
- More time with their doctor and care team
- Behavioral health support integrated into primary care
- On-call provider available after hours for non-emergency questions
- Early morning, evening, and Saturday appointments at select locations
Spira Care first
One of the most important reminders for members is to call Spira Care first whenever they have a non-emergency healthcare need and are unsure where to go for care. The Care Team can often schedule a primary care appointment or help guide members to the most appropriate in-network care setting for their specific situation. This can help avoid unnecessary emergency room visits and ensure members receive the right care at the right time.

1Blue KC members enrolled in plans (without a Health Savings Account) with exclusive access to Spira Care Centers will have no additional cost for any appointment or service provided at a Spira Care Center. Blue KC members enrolled in a plan with a Health Savings Account or HSA eligible with exclusive access to Spira Care Centers will incur a charge for an office visit at a Spira Care Center. Once a member has met their deductible, any future primary care needs at a Spira Care Center are at no additional cost. Preventive services are covered at 100%.
