2027 ACA Open Enrollment updates and reminders
As preparation for 2027 ACA enrollment season begins, Blue KC’s steady stream of updates and reminders aims to put you in the know and keep you there until you submit your final OEP enrollment.
We got the ball rolling last week with our annual Product Rollout event at Boulevard Brewing Company. If you weren’t able to attend, here are some highlights.
ACA Open Enrollment Period
Open enrollment 2027 runs November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027, giving you more time to sell. This is a reversal from a previously announced shorter enrollment period for 2027.
Blue KC key highlights
Blue Metro network expands
The Blue Metro network, designed for Simply Blue plans, is expanding into Clay County in 2027. Importantly, this means NKC Health is now part of the network.
New for 2027! Blue KC Basic Bronze plan with $0 Spira Care
Our newest plan offers a low copay and basic coverage for those who need coverage without the extras. The plan will be available off-exchange only due to CMS guidance received after rollout.
New for 2027! Blue KC First Silver Preferred-Care Blue plan
We’re expanding our offering in the rural areas with the addition of the new Blue KC First Silver plan.
Regulatory updates
Maximum out of pocket limits to increase in 2027 due to regulatory changes
New limits: Single = $12,000, Family = $24,000
Benefit adjustments
We will sunset the Catastrophic Plan at the end of 2026. On-exchange Catastrophic members will be crosswalked to the on-exchange First Choice Bronze BlueSelect plan and off-exchange Catastrophic members will be crosswalked to the off-exchange Basic Bronze BlueSelect plan.
