This year, more Blue KC members than ever have access to nine Kansas City area Spira Care Centers. As a broker, you play an important role in helping clients take full advantage of Spira Care.
Primary care services under one roof
Spira Care believes healthcare should feel less like a hassle and more like a partnership. To that end, Blue KC members with exclusive access to Spira Care receive primary care services from a doctor-led team, all under one roof. Spira Care provides:
- Preventive care and wellness visits – More below!
- Sick care and minor injury treatment1
- Behavioral health support
- Diabetes care management
- On-site lab and X-ray2
- Comprehensive medication management support
- Care Guides to help navigate care inside and outside Spira Care Centers
- Virtual appointments available for established patients
Annual preventive visit – No additional cost share
At Spira Care, members3 can have their annual preventive visits and associated preventive services for no additional cost share. Included in the visit:
- Review of medical history and medications
- Vital signs – Blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight
- Head-to-toe physical exam of the heart, lungs, abdomen, skin, eyes, ears, nose, throat, reflexes
- Immunizations
- Lab work, such as standard metabolic, blood cell count, and cholesterol
- Discussion of preventive screenings to detect potential health issues like cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease

Call Spira Care first
Encourage members3 to call Spira Care first for non-emergent health concerns. They’ll get the care they need when they need it, while you support appropriate use of care by guiding them to Spira Care.
