Prescription drug list updates effective July 1, 2026
The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) Medical and Pharmacy Management Committee has completed its quarterly review of the prescription drug lists (PDL) and other pharmacy programs for drug safety, effectiveness, clinical outcomes, and cost.
The following groups will see PDL updates, effective July 1, 2026.
Large employer groups (100+)
- Select PDL routine updates
- Premium PDL routine updates
Non-ACA small employer groups (2-99, including level-funded ASO)
- Premium PDL routine updates
ACA small employer groups
- Essential Health Benefits PDL routine updates
Group and member communications
- Impacted employer groups will be sent either a letter or email the week of May 18.
- Impacted members will receive a letter appropriate to their prescription change by June 1.
