SmartShopper cash incentive program to sunset December 31, 2026
The SmartShopper cash incentive program will sunset December 31, 2026, for fully insured and cost plus large groups. We first shared news of the program sunsetting in January 2026. The program, which rewards Blue KC members for shopping and choosing cost-effective sites of care, has had low utilization and we expect little to no member abrasion at sunset.
SmartShopper is one of several member programs and tools provided by Zelis. There is no impact to Zelis Find Care online provider search and cost estimator tools.

- Members can continue to earn SmartShopper cash incentives through December 31, 2026.
- Members can access Find Care, the cost estimator, and SmartShopper on their member account at MyBlueKC.com.
- Members will see no impact to Zelis Find Care and cost estimator tools.
- Local ASO clients, which contract directly with Zelis, are not impacted at this time. They can continue to use SmartShopper through 2027.
