Insight:
Blue KC announces a new opportunity for large groups to add exclusive access to Spira Care to plans on the Preferred-Care Blue network. This add-on opportunity requires no changes to existing plan benefits. Groups and members can maintain their current benefit structure and network availability while adding access to Spira Care.

The expanded network access will be available upon renewal starting January 1, 2026.

For the Preferred-Care Blue network, capitation is only paid on members that reside within a 16-county area (In Missouri: Platte, Clay, Jackson, Cass, Johnson, Buchanan, Clinton, Ray, Lafayette, Henry, Bates; In Kansas: Johnson, Wyandotte, Miami, Douglas, Leavenworth). This area was selected based on its proximity to Spira Care Centers.

Members enrolled in a plan without an HSA will continue to have no additional cost* when receiving services at a Spira Care Center. Members enrolled in a plan with an HSA will have a low additional cost* when receiving services at a Spira Care Center. Preventive services are covered at no additional cost*.
