MLR and Employer Size Surveys combined, will deliver via email in late January
In late January, employer groups will be asked to complete an Employer Size Survey, which is a combined online survey to report their medical loss ratio (MLR) and verify employer size.
This is the first year we have combined the surveys. Here are a few things to know:
- Groups must complete the survey to be eligible for an MLR rebate*.
- Groups will no longer receive a separate MLR survey in June.
- The surveys were combined at the request of brokers and groups.
Blue KC will email employer groups later this month with links to the survey, which must be completed by February 20.
This annual verification process is part of our compliance commitment related to the Affordable Care Act and Medicare secondary payor requirements. If an employer does not complete the survey, Blue KC may change the premium rates of Medicare-eligible members to reflect Blue KC as the primary payer for coverage.
