New COVID vaccine, free at-home tests arrive this month
The updated COVID-19 vaccine is now available to your clients for $0. They can search vaccines.gov to find a COVID vaccine provider near them.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a single dose of the updated mRNA COVID -19 vaccine for anyone six months or older. It is especially important for individuals who are:
- Immunocompromised
- 65 or older
- Living in a long-term care facility
- Pregnant or trying to get pregnant
- Breastfeeding
- Have never received the COVID-19 vaccine
Why is an updated vaccine needed?
Vaccine protection decreases over time, which is why the CDC recommends an updated COVID vaccine to prevent serious illness, long COVID 19 symptoms, hospitalization, or even death.
Where can my clients get free COVID tests?
The federal government will restart its free at-home COVID test program later this month. Clients can order them at COVIDTests.gov.
