Summertime Activities in KC
There’s nothing quite like a Kansas City summer. From festivals and theme parks, to shopping and sports events, there is something for everyone. Here are some of our favorite summer activities:
- Farmers markets – Enjoy a morning at one of our local farmers markets to pick up fresh flowers, produce, and more.
- Kansas City Sports – Grab some tickets and your friends/family to cheer on our KC sports teams.
- Drive-in movies & theaters – Whether you’re looking for a date night idea or evening out with the kids, a drive-in movie or outdoor musical theatre could do the trick.
- Shopping – Hit up Kansas City’s best shopping centers for a day
- Berry picking – The assortment of summer berries to pick is lengthy. Make a day of picking your favorite berries at one of these local farms.
- Festivals – Festivals take place year-round in KC, but make sure to mark your calendars for some of KC’s best summer festivals.
- Festival of Butterflies at Powell Gardens – July 17- August 3
- Kansas City Lawn Party – July 20
- Ethnic Enrichment Festival – August 15-17
- Museums – Our city is rich in history and arts. Check out one of our local museums for a day of learning and fun.
- Volunteer at local organizations
- Other – More fun for the summer!
