Sporting Samaritans Step Up for a Day of Service at Giving the Basics
On a recent volunteer day at Giving the Basics, 18 incredible volunteers from the Blue KC Sporting Samaritans program rolled up their sleeves to make a big impact. Ambassadors Matt Besler, former US Men’s National Team member, and Jake Davis, current Sporting Kansas City player, both joined the effort, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the cause.
This marks the second year of service for the Blue KC Sporting Samaritans, and their dedication continues to grow. During this event, the team helped process an impressive 33,660 hygiene items—more than double the number of products processed by a group of the same size earlier this year.
We’re grateful for the Sporting Samaritans’ continued commitment to giving back. Their teamwork and passion are helping meet critical hygiene needs for our community—one box at a time.
