Blue KC’s role in reporting and incorporating the PCORI fee
Blue KC submits IRS Form 720 to file the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) fee, which includes a per member fee for individual, small group, and some large group plans in the aggregate. However, we do not submit individual Form 720s for each of our groups.
Blue KC will facilitate reporting and incorporating the PCORI fee into rates for our fully insured employer group members (which includes cost plus, contingent premium, and max refund membership).
Self-insured (ASO) and Small Group Level Funded ASO groups will still be responsible for reporting and paying their own PCORI fee as is required by the Internal Revenue Service.
