Prescription Drug List updates effective July 1, 2025
The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) Medical and Pharmacy Management Committee has completed its quarterly review of the Prescription Drug Lists (PDL) and other pharmacy programs for drug safety, effectiveness, clinical outcomes, and cost.
Groups with PDL updates effective July 1, 2025.
Large employer groups (100+)
- Select PDL routine updates
- Premium PDL routine updates
Non-ACA small employer groups (2-99, including level-funded ASO)
- Premium PDL routine updates
ACA small employer groups
- Missouri Essential Health Benefits PDL routine updates
- Kansas Essential Health Benefits PDL routine updates
Communications to groups and members
- Impacted large and small employer groups will receive an email the week of May 19.
- Impacted small employer groups with no email address on file will receive a letter that will be mailed the week of May 19.
- Impacted members will receive a letter appropriate to their prescription change by June 1.
