Level funded small groups will have a reduced settlement reconciliation period
Level funded small groups will have a reduced settlement reconciliation period for surplus starting with January 1, 2025, contracts. The reconciliation period will decrease from 15 months to nine months after the end of the applicable term. Blue KC is making this change to align with the market.
Groups must maintain active medical coverage with Blue KC at the time of the settlement calculation to be eligible to receive a surplus.
Updated contracts will be included in level funded small group renewal packets.
