Well Stocked

Access to nutritious food is key to a healthy community. Today more than 350,000 people in Kansas City don't know where their next meal will come from. That's why we've launched Well Stocked, a new Blue KC initiative focused on increasing access to nutritious food in underserved areas in Kansas City.

Wellness Partners

Our community partnerships help us to reach further and support greater change than we could alone.

  • Harvesters
  • Double Up Food Bucks
  • Cultivate Kansas City
  • Kansas City Community Gardens
Macaela Stephenson, Manager of Community Relations

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City has been doing business for more than 80 years, but what we do goes beyond providing some of the best health insurance in our hometown. We partner with local people and organizations to create powerful initiatives to help our community become a more vibrant place to live, work, play and raise a family. For those reasons, we are proud to support a variety of organizations. It's about helping our members and Kansas City build a healthier future.

Blue KC is committed to improving the health and wellness of the individuals and families living and working in the communities we serve. One way we fulfill this mission is through charitable contributions to a range of worthwhile causes and not-for-profit organizations.

While our main charitable focus is on organizations that concentrate on health and wellness initiatives, we also give to organizations that enrich lives through social services, education, arts, culture and civic endeavors.

The Fine Print

Our policy is to make one contribution per year to an organization. Blue KC does not commit to multi–year funding for any organization or event. If you have multiple requests for the year, please make every effort to combine those into one funding request.
