Philip Bowling

Philip Bowling is the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC). In this role, he is responsible for the financial operations and fiscal management of Blue KC. Partnering with the CEO and executive team, Philip develops the company’s financial and operational strategies with a focus on operational results, cost containment and risk management. He is responsible for overseeing all areas of Finance, including Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Actuary and Tax. Philip will also lead the company’s Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO).

Philip is a finance leader with more than twenty-five years of experience in finance management. Prior to joining Blue KC’s team, he held a senior leadership position in Finance at SantaFe HealthCare, Inc. (SFHC), and led the financial affairs of SFHC and its affiliates. His experience includes finance management roles at WellCare, Inc. and Anthem, Inc.

Philip is an active member within the community, and values community involvement. Most recently, he served on the board of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDFR), Kansas City, Mo. Previous community involvement included volunteering with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Central Indiana and Beacon of Hope. Philip holds membership in the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).

Philip earned a Master of Business Administration from Butler University and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Dayton.
