MA members can disregard letter about BBB card

July 2023

Blue Medicare Advantage (MA) members who had a 2022 Blue KC plan received a letter the last week in June about their expiring 2022 Blue Benefit Bucks (BBB) card. Members can disregard the letter.

The card vendor traditionally mails the required letter in December indicating the BBB card would expire December 31. In 2022, the letter did not mail in December. Once the vendor realized the error, it mailed the letter June 15, 2023.

As MA members received the letter in late June, they were naturally confused and concerned their 2023 BBB card was expiring. If you receive calls from members about the letter, please reassure them their 2023 card is not affected and they can disregard the letter.

Please refer to the FAQ below for more information or contact Barron.Roberts@bluekc.com. Members may call the customer service number on the back of their ID card with further questions.
