As part of the CMS 2024 Final Rule, CMS announced updated guidance regarding the 48-hour rule. To comply, Blue KC has updated its Scope of Appointment (SOA) form with a timestamp. We also added a notes section to recap topics you discuss at appointments. The notes section is for convenience and provides a safeguard for you and your clients.
CMS requires Blue KC and all insurers to perform routine audits and show proof of them. This requirement makes it imperative that you retain SOA forms and make them available within 24 hours of a request from Blue KC’s audit team.
