Each season, Blue KC teams up with the Kansas City Royals to recognize Blue KC Hometown Heroes – a program that honors first responders such as police officers, firefighters, and EMTs who have made a lasting impact in the Kansas City community.
Blue KC Hometown Heroes are selected from the alumni base of The Battle Within, a behavioral health program based in the Kansas City area. Its goal is to help first responders find healing after facing extraordinary situations while helping others.
The 2022 Blue KC Hometown Heroes program highlights 10 honorees during Friday night Royals home games. Each honoree receives four tickets to the Royals game, a $100 Royals gift card, and pregame recognition.
In addition, each honoree will have $2,500 donated in their name to The Battle Within, making a grand total of a $25,000 donation for the 2022 Royals season.
