Coming January 2026: Iris by OncoHealth® available to most Blue KC members
As previously announced, Blue KC is launching Iris by OncoHealth®, a new virtual cancer support program available to members covered under most Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) health plans.*
Starting in January, Iris will offer compassionate, 24/7 support to eligible members (18 years old and older and their caregivers) diagnosed with cancer. The platform connects users with licensed oncology nurses, oncology-specialized therapists, and registered dietitians, along with educational tools to help members navigate their diagnosis, treatment, and recovery with confidence. Iris complements the member’s physician-led care and is available at no additional cost to eligible members.**
Iris key features:
- 24/7 access to oncology nurses for questions about treatment, symptoms, and side effects
- Virtual mental health visits with licensed oncology therapists
- Network of peer mentors sharing real-life experiences
- Health tracker to monitor emotional and physical well-being
- Cancer-specific lifestyle and nutrition resources from registered dietitians
When Blue KC and OncoHealth receive a prior authorization or claim related to cancer, Iris will contact the member and introduce them to Iris. Employers who become aware of an employee or covered dependent’s cancer diagnosis can also share our Cancer support on your terms flyer to help them learn more and enroll.
This initiative is part of Blue KC’s broader collaboration with OncoHealth, combining advanced oncology utilization management with personalized member support. The goal: to ensure appropriate, effective, and coordinated cancer care — helping employers offer high-quality support while managing costs and improving outcomes.

Eligibility for Iris is limited to individuals who are 18 years of age or older and who are enrolled in a health plan that includes Iris as a covered benefit.
