Blue KC Remains the Official Health Insurance Partner of the KC Current

We are proud to announce a multi-year partnership extension with the Kansas City Current as Blue KC remains one of the club’s founding partners. Blue KC will continue to serve as the club’s official health insurance partner, while also signing on as the official mental and behavioral health partner of the Current. Blue KC will continue to be represented with the right sleeve patch on KC Current jerseys.

“We are thrilled to continue our incredible relationship with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City,” said Kansas City Current team president Allison Howard. “As one of our first partners of the club, Blue KC has shown their commitment to the Current and the entire Kansas City community through everything they do. Together, our Sideline the Stigma program has been an incredible asset for Kansas City over the past two years, and we can’t wait to continue expanding and improving this event. We are also very excited to continue to work with Blue KC on Pride Night, one of the most anticipated nights of the year held at CPKC Stadium, and a celebration that means so much to both of our organizations. We look forward to the next evolution of this partnership with Blue KC and what we accomplish together for this amazing city.”

“The Kansas City Current is a first-class organization, and we are so excited to extend our partnership,” said Christina Lively, Blue KC Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “As a founding partner, we recognize the impact these talented athletes have on the Kansas City community, as they continue to be role models for our younger generations. We continue to be invested in the club, as they enter a transformational phase in 2024 as they open the first purpose-built women’s professional sports stadium in the world!”

For the past two seasons, Blue KC and the Current have collaborated on the “Sideline the Stigma” initiative, promoting actionable and practical resources to remove the stigma surrounding mental and behavioral health and giving support to all Kansas Citians. The initiative culminates in a yearly event where local youth are given the opportunity to participate in various workshops about movement, music, art and have a conversation about mental health with KC Current players.

Members of the Current’s leadership team will continue to receive Mental Health First Aid® certifications, presented by Blue KC and the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Mental Health First Aid® is the initial help offered to a person developing a mental health or substance use challenge or experiencing a mental health crisis. The first aid is given until appropriate treatment and support are received or until the crisis resolves.

New in 2024, Blue KC will be the exclusive presenting partner of a new initiative that recognizes women in the Greater Kansas City Metro Area who are going above and beyond in their commitment to making Kansas City a better place to live, work and play.

Blue KC is also the presenting sponsor of the club’s Pride Night, held annually in June, with special events surrounding the game and exclusive merchandise for fans.

As an official partner, Blue KC will continue to receive use of marks, in-game signage, hospitality, social posts and more.
