Blue KC supports free health screenings during Heritage Festival to further health equity

KANSAS CITY, MO. (June 8, 2021)Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) is proud to partner with JuneteenthKC in honor of its 10th Annual JuneteenthKC festival, a month-long heritage celebration hosted within the 18th & Vine Historic Jazz District. Blue KC believes that good health is the foundation for a bright future and will be sponsoring free health screenings to raise awareness and promote wellness throughout the Kansas City community.
The screenings, offered by nurses from Blue KC’s Care Management team, will test for important health metrics including blood pressure and BMI. These screenings will be free and available to everyone at the Blue KC Heritage Festival event booth on June 12th and June 19th from 12pm – 4pm.

JuneteenthKC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and celebrating the Juneteenth holiday in Kansas City. The organization collaborates with community stakeholders and African American cultural and educational agencies to host a cultural event that brings people together from all backgrounds to celebrate the progression of the African American community and enjoy the spirit of remembrance, unity and personal independence. JuneteenthKC features a variety of community-focused musical performances, live entertainment, public-service opportunities, and youth-oriented vendors.
