KANSAS CITY, MO. (November 13, 2019)—Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) is exploring alternatives for its headquarters at 2301 Main. Options under consideration include renovations to its current space or relocation to a new or existing building in Kansas City, Mo.
As Blue KC continues to grow and adapt, its facilities needs are evolving. The company’s current office building was constructed in 1979 and is not adequately serving the needs of the company and its employees.
“We know we are going to be a part of the Kansas City community for years to come and want to ensure we are best positioned to support our customers and members now and well into the future,” said Blue KC President and CEO Erin Stucky. “We need a workplace that will evolve with us as we drive change to advance affordable access to healthcare and improve the health of our members.”
Blue KC is in the early stage of discussions to consider options that are cost-effective and meet the needs of the company and overall workforce priorities. The company has engaged Colliers International to represent its interests in exploring various real estate options within the Kansas City metro area. More information will be shared as decisions are made.
