Erin Stucky, CEO, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO. (February 26, 2024) — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) President and Chief Executive Officer, Erin Stucky, has been named to The Top 50 Women Chief Executive Officers of 2024 by Women We Admire, a publication dedicated to recognizing the achievements of exceptional women across industries. Among Fortune 500 companies, only around 10% of CEOs are women, even though, according to Women We Admire, research shows women leaders improve collaboration and inspire employees to be more dedicated to a company’s mission.

In their announcement of this year’s awardees, Women We Admire wrote, “[Stucky] leads the company with a lifelong dedication to healthcare, a deep commitment to the Kansas City region, and extensive expertise in business and health advocacy. As the leader of Kansas City’s largest health benefits provider with more than 1 million members, Stucky is committed to Blue KC’s mission of making healthcare more affordable and positioning Blue KC to respond to the ever-evolving healthcare environment.”

Stucky, who began her tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2019, succeeded Blue KC’s first ever female CEO, Danette Wilson, who spent more than three decades with the company.

Award recipients demonstrated the focus, drive, and commitment of today’s women CEOs. As the highest-ranking executive, the CEO is responsible for making major corporate decisions and guiding the strategic direction of the company. The role also sets the tone for the overall culture and values, while ensuring financial prosperity.
