Prescription Drug List updates effective July 1, 2023

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) Medical and Pharmacy Management Committee has completed its quarterly review of the Prescription Drug Lists (PDLs) and other pharmacy programs for drug safety, effectiveness, clinical outcomes, and cost.

The following groups – non-ACA small employer groups (2-99, including level funded ASO) and large employer groups (100+) – will see the following PDL updates, effective July 1, 2023.

Non-ACA Small Employer Groups (2-99, including level funded ASO)

• Premium Prescription Drug List Routine Updates

Large Employer Groups (100+)

• Preferred Prescription Drug List Routine Updates
• Premium Prescription Drug List Routine Updates

Communications to groups

• Impacted large employer groups will receive an email next week, and impacted small employer groups will receive a letter that will mail this week. Read the email and letter content.
• Impacted members will receive a letter appropriate to their prescription change by June 1.
