Blue KC is a caretaker and playmaker in Kansas City

May 2023

The past month has been busy for Blue KC as we assumed a familiar role of caretaker of the community and a novel role of Playmaker for the Draft.

Employees volunteer across Kansas City

During the week of April 17 – Volunteer Appreciation Week – employees infiltrated the Kansas City community to do one of the things we do best – care for Kansas City. Logging 424 hours, 11 nonprofits, and a volunteer value of $12,700, we are honored to be part of making KC a better place to live, work, and play.

Blue KC employees volunteered at: G.I.F.T., Giving the Basics, Harvesters, Hope House, Junior Achievement BizTown, Kanbe’s Markets, Penn Valley Clean Up, Ronald McDonald House Charities, School of Economics, Sleepyhead Beds, and The Whole Person

Blue KC supports the Draft

Blue KC is proud to have supported the Draft from our headquarters, which sits squarely in the hub of where the action was. As a Kansas City Playmaker, we joined other corporate partners to maximize the Draft’s community impact by:

  • Making our parking lot available to national media
  • Hosting KSHB-TV to broadcast the Draft perched above the action in our corporate offices
  • Using our lobby and patio for a VIP event

Blue KC’s Jenny Housley, Senior VP and Chief Revenue Officer, expressed our enthusiasm best in this interview with KSHB-TV.
