A Healthier You

Get the most out of your preventive care

March 2022

Preventive care reduces the risk for diseases, disabilities, and death – and yet millions of people in the United States don’t get recommended preventive health services.1 As your partner in health, Blue KC encourages you to take full advantage of your preventive health coverage. An ounce of prevention can lead to a lifetime of good health.

What is routine preventive care?

The goal of preventive care is to prevent illness before symptoms arise. Preventive care includes annual checkups, immunizations, lab tests, and screenings. Most preventive services are covered at 100% with no out-of-pocket costs when they’re received at an in-network doctor or facility. That means they’re completely free.
